Hello From London
Well since ive got the chance to, i thought id write a blog from London. The museums here are wonderful and i would gladly recommend it to anyone. Especially the Lee Miller exhibition, that was a few hours well spent by anyones standards.
Ive also been out shooting the nights scenes in London, and yes, i did bring the tripod. Ill post a few images up when i get back to Cornwall and my laptop. Hopefully you all enjoy. I even managed to get to a few new places this year, and even though i couldnt get close enough, i was still happy to go and watch the premiere of the "Golden Compass" film thats out. Maybe next time ill get closer to the action (or have a really long lens)

A special mention

This was my first proper attempt at photojournalism. It wasnt a big protest, but it was something. Hopefully this lot did get to keep what they wanted. I havent heard from them since the day, but it was a good day for all. I have to admit i was pleased i was the only photographer there documenting it, and hopefully ill find a time to use them later on

Abandon all hope!
Ahhhhhhh! its the time of the uni course everyone hates - deadline days. Right now im in the mac room, trying to do four months of work in about 4 minutes. Not really, ive finished one project, with two more within hours of completion. Life is good, except the mac room which seems to be getting hotter every second - and theres hardly anyone in here. Air conditoning appears to have left for the weekend, and soon will i

Deadlines, Deadlines, Deadlines
Well here comes the rush as the semester ends, with everyone trying to complete the same things, and fight over the same materials. Right now im in the mac room, putting the finishing touches to projects and trying to stay sane. Its reading week soon, and ill be going home for it, and hopefully, i wont encounter the problems of the earlier blog. Will add a few pictures when i get some time

The train of eternal annoyance
Matthew Hacker, your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to get back to bristol to see the family. Along the way,you will encounter such problems as high wind, train delays, and an annoying tendency to need a drink when you havent any money. The internet you are using to make this blog will crash in five seconds.
Well the good news is.... i made it! Im doing this update from my comp at my house.Despite setting off at 1pm, i didnt get back to bristol until 7.30, in which time i lost my sanity, my sense of direction, and the toilets.
It ll take me the weekend to recover from just the train, and to think, on sunday, i have to do it all again. Now while this thought provides me with as much hope as a bank overdraft, as i find train rides to be completely boring after the first hour, ill find something to do, thats why we have books...

Fluke or Fate?
Now some of you are probably thinking what on earth am i rambling on about, but ive had the strangest day ever. Why is it whenever i go out to buy small things like food or some pens that i end up spending a lot more. Today i should have spent around 2.50 in tesco for odds and ends, but somehow in the space of an hour, and some shops, ive managed to spend 300. But not on regular things. Anyone remember nintendos old game and watches? the little things that take batteries and pre date the game boy? well today i didnt just find one, i found three, all of which came with the original boxes. How could i refuse that? and all for the low price of 90 pounds. But then on the way home, i stop in WHSmith. Usually i buy magazines, but today, what do i find but a nintendo wii, on the shelf ready to be bought - 215 pounds down the drain later im home. Maybe i should actually play the thing now...

Exhibits

ive had the pleasure of seeing this exhibit on two seperate occasions, and yet even though i had seen it all before, i still had the sense of wonder and amazement. The quality this year was incredible, in all the categories. Hopefully ill have the oppertunity to see it again next year. In the meantime, heres the link to the website
